Hamilton Glass

Public Artist

Hamilton Glass is a painter and public artist based in Richmond who uses art to strengthen communities. He is the founder of Mending Walls, a public art project that pairs artists from different backgrounds to create murals together and spark conversation across differences. The project’s documentary earned him an Emmy Award. Glass began his career as an architect before discovering his true passion for painting. That background shows in his bold, graphic murals, which use geometric shapes, rhythmic lines, and vibrant color to work with existing architecture.
