Hope Ward

Hope Ward is an actor, writer, director, and academic hailing from Providence, RI. She received her Bachelor’s degree in theater and Black studies from Randolph-Macon College, MFA in theater from Columbia University and her PhD in Media Art and Text from VCU. She defines herself as an artist emphasizing the synonymic role of Black feminism and universal humanity. Her most recent acting credits include “Camae” in Florida Repertory Theater’s The Mountaintop, “Antigone” in Baltimore Center Stage’s production of Antigone, and “Tyree” in the Off-Broadway production of Bundle of Sticks at Intar Theater. She has appeared in Amazon Prime videos “Love My Roomie” and “Hawk’s Ridge,” season 4 of Paramount Plus’s “Evil” and Season 3 of HBO’s “Succession.” As a playwright, her play “To All the Black Girls Who’ve Waited” had its New York Premiere at New York Theater Festival where she won the best production at New York Theater Festival’s 2022 Winterfest and had its off-Broadway debut at Ars Nova’s 2023 ANTFEST. She most recently had her New York debut of her play “A U G U S T 28th ” at The Tank’s 2025 LimeFest.
